Our most popular treatment across all genders thanks to its quick, reliable, effective results with no downtime, Botox* is predominantly used to relax facial muscles to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
Shantel specialises in a natural looking, age-appropriate results. The goal is to still look like you and be able to make regular facial expressions, just fresher, less tired and grumpy-looking, with greatly softened lines and wrinkles.
Botox* can be used to reduce frown lines (to stop you looking grumpy or reduce the deep “number 11” lines between the eyebrows), horizontal lines across the forehead, and crow’s lines around the eyes. Placed carefully, it can also subtly lift the eyebrows, open up the eye area and make you look fresher and less tired. Over time, it can help reduce deep ingrained permanent lines. Botox* can even lift the mouth corners, subtly reduce upper lip lines and evert the upper lip, and smooth the appearance of dimpled chins, “bunny scrunch” lines and prominent bands and cords on the neck. Shantel is also skilled in using Botox* to correct facial asymmetry, and to treat a “gummy smile.”
Aside from the aesthetic benefits, Botox* can also be used to help reduce tension headaches, pain in the jaw and teeth grinding.
Once it has been injected, Botox* takes 1-3 days to start working, and up to 14 days for full effect. A full dose treatment lasts around 3-4 months for most people. Areas treated lightly with lower dosing such as the forehead, or low dosing for a more natural result retaining movement, may wear off more quickly.

The use of dermal filler in the lips is very popular, and Shantel is known for achieving natural-looking, soft and subtle results. The “half size” of 0.6ml filler for $500 is one of our most requested treatments and results typically last 6-9 months.

A game-changing bio-remodelling treatment which intensely hydrates the skin with hyaluronan (this naturally declines as we age), and improves skin texture and laxity by stimulating production of collagen and elastin, Profhilo* can be used to treat the face, neck, decolletage and backs of the hands.
Neck treatments are particularly popular as this is an area often neglected, and where there have traditionally been very few effective treatment options available. Face treatments are also very popular due to the hydration, tightening and glow Profhilo* gives.
The product is gently placed under the skin with a tiny needle, where it spreads evenly throughout the surrounding tissues and underlying structures to form a hydration layer, and integrates into the skin and underlying structures. The result is lifted skin tissue with fewer lines, improved texture and intense hydration, without the volumising of traditional dermal fillers. Profhilo* has been widely used in Europe for many years, and New Zealand for over 5 year, and has a well-established safety profile.
Two initial treatments are required, 4 weeks apart, with a single maintenance top-up treatment every 6 months or so.
Profhilo* haenkenium antioxidant cream for the face, neck and decolletage is also available in clinic and our online store.

Shantel takes exceptional care when using dermal filler, injecting very small amounts at a time to achieve natural-looking, subtle results. Dermal fillers are made from hyaluronan, which is naturally present in the skin but declines with age. It promotes skin hydration and stimulates collagen production.
Dermal filler is used to soften lines and wrinkles around the mouth, sides of the face and cheeks, to gently enhance and hydrate lips, improve facial contours and reduce deeper lines/skin folds, and ‘beautify’ the face. It can also be used in the temples, in front of the ears and in the lateral side and middle of the cheeks, to restore volume loss or hollowing, and lift the face.
Results last 6-9 months when a small volume of a soft filler is used, and longer lasting deeper filler used in areas such as the cheeks and temples can last 12-24 months. Fillers can be dissolved and removed at any time if needed.

Viscoderm Hydrobooster is a dual action Hyaluronic acid-based, minimally invasive injection, used to give deep hydration and reduce fine lines and wrinkles, in dynamic areas of the face such as around the eyes, mouth and forehead. Two treatments are recommended 8 weeks apart, followed by a single top-up every 6 months.

Excessive armpit sweating or hyperhidrosis can be safely treated with Botox* injections. It has been used for many years and has a success rate of almost 100%, which can be life-changing for those with a significant problem.
Results last around 6 months, but can last longer with long-term repeated treatments. Most people have treatment once or twice a year.

Mesoestetic Cosmelan is an internationally renowned professional depigmentation peel for all skin types, effectively removing resistant pigmentation including melasma. Clients can expect a significant reduction in mild acne and post-inflammatory pigment, and a visible improvement to overall skin tone following a Cosmelan peel. Results are outstanding, and long-lasting.
A full consultation is required prior to a Cosmelan peel and strict compliance with sun protection and aftercare products is needed for optimal results. Cosmelan peels are best undertaken when you have a few days of downtime available and won’t be in direct sunlight.
The cost of this peel includes a three month supply of homecare products to maximise results.

Shantel tailors each individual facial peel to offer immediate, visible and progressive results on all skin types, including sensitive skin. Available as a one-off or occasional treatment, or as part of your regular monthly skincare regime, peels are effective in treating common aesthetic concerns such as superficial hyperpigmentation, mild acne and ageing. They are also fantastic if your skin needs a deep cleanse and exfoliation, followed by a hydrating treatment. Perfect before a special event or after wearing lots of make-up or sunscreen, skin is left glowing, feeling smooth, and homecare products are able to penetrate more effectively.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is the part of your blood rich in platelets, which can help heal and repair the skin. It contains special proteins and high concentrations of growth factors to increase collagen production and promote connective tissue repair.
PRP is used for skin rejuvenation to improve skin tone, thickness, dark circles under the eyes and skin texture. It is a good option for those looking for a natural treatment. The face, under eye area, neck and decolletage can be treated with PRP.
The treatment involves taking a small tube of your own blood (like a regular blood test) and spinning it in a centrifuge machine to separate the platelet rich plasma. The platelet rich plasma is then injected into the desired treatment area, with a tiny needle. A numbing cream can be applied first if desired, however the procedure is generally very well tolerated. PRP has minimal risks because your own blood is used.
Bay Skin Studio uses RegenPRP, a standardised platelet rich plasma prepared from your own blood with dedicated medical devices manufactured by Regen Lab, Switzerland.
